Little Sister Song by Sara Creasy is book 1 of the Wynter Wild series. It was available on Wattpad from December 2018. It was published March 2019.

The book introduces the characters of Wynter Wild and her four older half-siblings Caleb, Indio, Joy, and Jesse Fairn. Wynter (14) escapes the ashram in Arizona where she grew up with her sister Joy (22) in a cult-like religion called the Light. Caleb takes Wynter into his home after she shows up in Seattle alone a few days after New Year 2013. He and his brothers never knew they had a younger half-sister.

Jesse teaches Wynter how to live on the outside, although his lessons are biased toward his own interests of philosophy and science. Indio, who lives in Portland, bonds with her over their shared musical talent. Caleb tries to persuade Joy to take custody of Wynter, but she seems unable to function outside the the ashram.

Desperate for her mother Miriam's approval, Joy attempts to lure Wynter to Thailand where Miriam lives. Wynter runs away in search of her friends Roman and Xay from the ashram.

She's about to turn their lives upside down...

On a freezing Seattle night, teenager Wynter shows up on Caleb's doorstep in shorts and sandals, seeking help. Seeking sanctuary. Claiming to be his sister.

Caleb--Coast Guard hero with the perfect girlfriend--practically raised his two younger brothers. He always plays by the rules. He always wins. His duty is clear: give his little sister a home.

Pancakes for breakfast, rock music in the basement... Wynter knows she belongs here.

But when the authorities step in, how long will it take for Caleb to realize he needs to bend the rules? His brothers could teach him a thing or two about that...

Jesse--freshman science wiz and a legend in his own mind--takes on the momentous task of educating Wynter. Indio--talented musician with a sarcastic tongue to hide his pain--could be her role model, but he's more interested in getting wasted than coming home for the weekend. These two young men are still growing up, but they understand that sometimes, love is not enough.

Trapped in the foster care system, struggling to navigate middle school cliques, and with her dreams of a united family fading, Wynter is offered love from an unexpected direction. Will she turn her back on Caleb's promises and Jesse's guidance and Indio's acceptance, and take the chance to start over?

Join Wynter and her brothers on a heartrending and humorous journey through elementary particles, power chords, and the meaning of love.
